ArniaDB [1] is a relational database management system (RDBMS) [2] rivaling in performance and capabilities with the big players of the database industry: Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server. 

Based on the open-source CUBRID RDBMS [3]. It is in current active development and all our energy is focused on embedding the novel concept of the graph database [4] inside our legacy system. This is an unique project for the Romanian industry, since such technology is mostly developed by the “giants” (the above mentioned, IBM, Google, Bloomberg etc.).

You will learn and grow inside a great team of highly experienced developers and QA engineers, former olympiad masters, in a very independent, startup-like environment. Building your knowledge base on the internals of a database management system is a fun process, combining the academic effort of reading research papers with skimming through a complex codebase. Of course, your mentor will ease you into this exciting road.

The database theory is vast and around for over 60 years, as are database management systems. They share the same complexity, longevity and maturity as operating system kernels. It covers key aspects of computer science as a whole, most of which you have grasped during your time at UBB: compiler theory, memory and storage management, multithreading, network programming, complex data structures and algorithms.

Our C/C++ codebase is “bulletproof” and highly efficient, guarded by a thorough code review process in which you will be actively involved. You will learn to write optimal, safe, beautiful code and greatly enhance your knowledge and creativity in a fun environment!
