Cybersecurity Tools Analyst
to join our Cybersecurity Team in our Bucharest office.
As a Tools Analyst at the Ford Cyber Defense Center (CDC), you will play a crucial role in enhancing the security of Ford Motor Company's global assets. Your job will involve integrating and automating internal and external threat data across various security tools, helping to improve overall security operations. You'll focus on identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, ensuring seamless integration of tools, and developing reports to track daily and monthly security metrics. Additionally, you'll work closely with IT planning and engineering teams to help ensure the security systems are efficient and effective. Your work will directly support the CDC's mission to provide proactive and reactive security services to protect Ford’s assets worldwide.
What will be your roles and responsibilities in the team?
- Improving Cyber Incident Investigation: Analyze and design solutions to enhance our technologies and platforms, including creating new SIEM queries, alert tuning, and developing automated steps to improve threat detection and incident response.
- Driving Automation & Efficiency: Design and implement software and APIs to automate security operations in areas like threat management, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Optimizing Security Tools: Create, enhance, and fine-tune SIEM rules and integrate various Cyber Threat Intelligence platforms to improve our security operations.
- Collaboration with IT Teams: Partner with IT Operations teams to manage log source ingestion, ensuring seamless integration and parsing into SIEM systems.
- Process & Technology Improvement: Define and implement process improvements to enhance cybersecurity practices, helping us stay ahead of evolving threats.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain documentation, attend meetings, and provide data and analysis for regular reporting on security metrics and business impact.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with global regulations and continuously improve practices to minimize asset loss and mitigate threats.
- Relationship Building: Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
- Confidentiality & Responsibility: Maintain strict confidentiality and take responsibility for ensuring compliance with job duties and security protocols.
Are we looking for you? Yes, if you…
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field and have at least 2 years of experience in a cybersecurity role (preferred).
- Possess a solid understanding of security practices and technologies, including SIEM platforms, operating systems, networks, and APIs.
- Are passionate about data analysis and enjoy working with collaborative tools.
- Have familiarity with various security domains, such as Risk Management, Asset Security, and Network Security.
- Have experience with case management tools and monitoring alerts.
- Are proactive, always looking for ways to improve security operations.
- Enjoy working with diverse, global teams across different regions.
- Are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Are proactive, analytical, and process-driven with strong problem-solving skills.
- Hold (or are working toward) certifications like GCIH, CISSP, SSCP, or CCSP — though they’re not required.
