Your day to day:Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for IP MPLS and/or IP VPN technology domain and work with counter parts to design and deliver Vodafone’s Global IP MPLS and/or IP VPN network effective solutions that meet our business and customer’s needs.Design, engineer and deliver specific IP MPLS and/or IP VPN solutions to GNED customers like VF OpCo’s in Europe and Worldwide, VF Group Companies and other external clients.The Engineer in this role performs analysis, clarifies technical requirements with customers, creates and design software configuration guidelines, and writes programing commands for adjusting network configuration or implementing new functionalities requested by international or national customers. Coordinates the solution design for facilitating a timely delivery of the IP MPLS and/or IP VPN system to the client.With these activities you will have a great impact on our business:• To provide authoritative and credible IP MPLS and/or IP VPN technical leadership, engaging with colleagues across the organisation, strategic customers, vendors and industry bodies• To work with counterparts and key stakeholders across the VCNO group to ensure that the technology strategy and implementation designs are aligned with our wider business objectives• To work with counterparts to identify and quantifiably assess new technology capabilities that could create business benefit service/network performance enhancement, service enablement and/or reduce costs• To define the low level design (LLD) technical standards that the Vodafone global networks will follow• Analyse customer requests and define the specific technical requirements for building the IP MPLS and/or IP VPN solution for the GNED client• Create appropriate design & configuration templates for IP MPLS and/or IP VPN information systems (routing & switching software)• Write and customize IOS/VRP/JUNOS/MML programing commands to match the specific requirements of the clients• Interconnect and integrate HW&SW information systems from different countries/sites to provide specific IP MPLS and/or IP VPN solutions to clients• Perform feasibility analysis and capacity checks on the Global IP platform for new demands With these skills you are a great candidate:• A recognised subject matter expert in IP MPLS and/or IP VPN, with experience within an architectural or senior design/development role, with demonstrable success in providing technology technical/thought leadership• Very good knowledge of specific information systems technology, especially IP MPLS and/or IP VPN• Critical thinking, problem solving, analysis and innovative thinking• Very good knowledge of IP architectures and protocols • Very good understanding of the SW lifecycle: design, development, testing and acceptance, implementation, performance optimization and troubleshooting• Ability to work within virtual teams and interface with multi-national clients Sounds like the perfect job?
