The Mission
Wero Core Services supporting the wero digital payment wallet proposition of ING is a product managed internally by a Service Owner/ Product Lead, leading the vision, strategy, and priorities.
Wero Core Services will be used in native (android and iOS) applications and assisted channels of ING, facilitating digital payments via the wero wallet for millions of ING customers.
You will act as an IT Business Analyst for Payment and Settlement Services (“PSS”) area, being responsible for determining the functional impact on IT-domains, based on functional and non-functional business, architecture and IT-requirements of Wero.
You will work with multi-disciplinary squads, architects, IT Analysts, product owners and developers.
Your day to day:
Even if you start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when it comes to tasks.
You will be responsible of:
- Interpret and clarify requirements and refine the product backlog together with the Product Owner and the devops team;
- Propose multiple technical solutions and validate the best one with the architects;
- Propose and implement robust RESTful APIs to support various applications/ use cases;
- Propose and implement reference schema for each type of event/message to be published by the Wero Core Services;
- Transform complex requests into clear, actionable alignment proposals. Facilitate discussions and obtain consensus on the final solution from all stakeholders and consumers;
- Document APIs including usage guidelines and best practices, maintain and update the documentation as changes are implemented;
- Analyse processes and work with business owners and end users to ensure the system correctly models their latest process;
- Understand and translate complex business needs / requirements into functional specifications;
- Manage quality assurance processes to ensure submitted development work meets requirements;
- Participate in agile ceremonies with developers to help ensure that work in progress will meet requirements’ goals;
- Collaborate with developers to adapt solutions to the existing environment.
What you’ll bring to the team
Experience:
Mandatory:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in financial industry/ (instant) payments domain;
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs;
- Experience with industry best practices for API documentation and design following OpenAPI specifications;
- Experience with sequence diagrams, using tools such as PlantUML and/or draw.io;
- Experience with testing APIs using tools like Postman;
- Strong analytical capabilities, methodical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to make informed decisions and think conceptually;
- Ability to manage a global product in an international context with multiple consumers;
- Experience with global products aligned to multiple stakeholders’ requirements;
- Adaptability to multiple consumers’ requirements and changing project needs;
- Knowledge and best practices of security, audit, IT architecture;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Nice to have:
- Basic coding/programming skills
- Basic knowledge of release management
- Experience with Azure Devops or Gitlab is considered a plus
- IT Landscape and software development life-cycle knowledge (experience of working with an agile methodology) would be an advantage
Foreign languages: Fluency in English;
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field.
