General Information

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT engineer with focus on Linux and security to join our global IT infrastructure and managed services team.

The position will join our existing Managed Linux Server team with the responsibility on enforcing and auditing security measures, as well as a general contribution to the quality and future development of the Linux service. Focus of the team is to provide Linux servers in on-premises locations to users within the corporation.

Bringing knowledge about public cloud providers, automation tools and deeper security topics is a big plus.

Your Key Responsibilities

Linux System Administration:

• Operation of the lifecycle and maintenance of our heterogenous Linux landscape throughout multiple on-premises locations.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting of the systems by alerts or user request.
• Support automation of our processes using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or similar.
• Supporting users inside our organization as consumers of the Linux service.

Security of the Linux service:

• Maintain and develop security measures on all systems.
• Drive and audit the patch management within the team.
• Scan and audit vulnerabilities on all servers we support.
• Audit and develop hardening of our Linux platform.

Your Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT security roles.
• Proven experience managing Linux servers in on-premises or cloud environments.
• Good experience with automation tools and custom scripting, e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Python, Bash or similar.

Skills:

• Knowledge of networking and services.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamworking skills.
• Being motivated to improve the team and yourself.
• Ability to work in a global and multicultural team.

Bonus Skills:

• Understanding and usage of public cloud providers (e.g. AWS or Azure).
• Experience with on-premises virtualization tools like VMware vSphere.
• Knowledge in repository-management for Enterprise Linux distributions.
• Awareness of security tooling and practices around scanning, auditing, hardening.
• Familiarity with system hardening benchmarks by CIS or similar vendors.

Work Environment:

This position may require occasional travel to other company locations for meetings or workshops. While on-call availability is currently not planned, it could be a possibility in the future.
