Your mission:

As a Senior Data Scientist in our Strategic Development team, you will: 

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models for renewable energy, forecasting and performance optimization,
• Lead initiatives to improve our machine learning simulation systems, and replace legacy components with modern ML frameworks,
• Develop innovative approaches for anomaly detection, soiling detection, and predictive maintenance in renewable energy systems,
• Research and implement advanced time series forecasting techniques, to improve forecast quality and accuracy,
• Create solutions for loss breakdowns and component health assessment, to identify underperforming elements,
• Develop methodologies for automatic NWP (Numerical Weather Prediction) model selection, and dynamic settings for physical simulations,
• Integrate weather pattern analysis with asset performance, to enhance maintenance scheduling,
• Support the development of a centralized data analytics platform for internal and customer use,
• Collaborate with software engineers to deploy models to production and ensure code quality,
• Optimize machine learning workflows for better computational efficiency and scalability,
• Mentor junior team members, and share technical knowledge through code reviews and knowledge transfer sessions,
• Establish best practices and documentation for data science workflows.

Your profile:

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related field,
• 3+ years of professional experience applying machine learning to real-world problems,
• Proven track record in developing and deploying machine learning models,
• Strong expertise in time series forecasting and anomaly detection,

• Experience with Python and major ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn),
• Knowledge of MLOps practices and model deployment,
• Understanding of software development best practices,
• Experience with cloud-based data processing and analytics,
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly,
• Fluent English skills (mandatory) - German is a plus, but not required.

• Primary: Python ecosystem with data science and ML libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn),
• Advanced ML: TensorFlow, PyTorch, time series analysis tools,
• Data Processing: Apache Airflow, FastAPI,
• Databases: ClickHouse, MySQL, time-series databases,
• Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, in-house server infrastructure, AWS,
• Visualization: Data visualization libraries and dashboard tools (matplotlib, plotly).
