About the Position 

This position, within Tire & Performance Science organization, will support the development of Off-HIGHWAY Farm and Commercial Truck tires as a Resident Engineer onsite in the Ballabgarh, India manufacturing plant.  The candidate will work in a team environment, seeking solutions to technical challenges, and utilizing lean principles to enhance global standards and processes. The Resident Engineer position is a conduit bringing product design knowledge to the plant & learning about the plant/manufacturing process to bring that knowledge back to the product development team.

Job Responsibilities:

• You will develop and enhance products, processes, and methods that meet internal and external customer requirements
  
  
• You will Translate product requirements into product design features
  
  
• You will contribute to the manufacture of quality products and the enhancement of manufacturing processes
  
  
• You will work in a team environment towards bringing new product technologies to market
  
  
• You have strong communication skills [written/oral] in presenting data and information to others
  
  
• You will act as the Communication link between the product development team and the plant - Facilitate meetings/action plans and linkage between DFMEA and PFMEA
  
  
• You can interface and work with global regions of the organization, across multiple functions (product development, manufacturing, Quality)
  
  
• You will assist with check builds for technical releases of new products
  
  
• You will support plant process changes for potential impact on product performance
  
  
• You will support plant trials for effectiveness and potential impact on product performance
  
  
• You will coordinate return tire inspection and analysis
  
  
• You will assist in plant improvement opportunities to determine required design changes
  
  

Job Requirements:

• 
  
  
• Understanding of science and technology in applicable disciplines
  
  
• Comprehension of statistical design and analysis; cause-and-effect analysis; risk analysis; lean principles
  
  
• At least 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment; experience in tire manufacturing is an advantage 
  
  
• Display data interpretation skills, and the ability to apply these skills to product development
  
  
• Ability to accomplish assignments logically, using existing technology and standardized methodologies
  
  
• Basic organization, communication, and experimentation skills
  
  
• Knowledge of Computer-Aided Design is desired
  
  
• Language skills in English, Hindi, Spanish, Bahasa helpful
  
  

Education

• 
  
  
• Bachelor’s Degree – Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  
  
• Master’s Degree or Experience in similar disciplines is considered a plus
