Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Wood Technologist specializing in the preparation of wood for veneering. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of wood species, particularly beech wood, and expertise in the processes of debarking, cutting, and heat treatment. This role is important to ensuring the highest quality of wood veneer for our ice Cream Sticks Production. English speaking is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

-   Oversee the debarking process to ensure the wood is prepared for further processing without damage.

-   Manage the heat treatment (boiling or steaming) processes to prepare the beechwood for veneering, determining the optimal time and temperature settings based on wood species and moisture content.

-   Apply knowledge of wood science to achieve the desired flexibility, texture, and quality in the veneer.

- Monitor and adjust heat treatment (boiling or steaming) conditions to prevent defects.

-   Conduct regular inspections of processed wood to ensure it meets the required standards for veneer production.

-   Troubleshoot any issues arising from wood preparation processes, and implement corrective actions.

-   Continuously evaluate and optimize the wood preparation processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

-   Collaborate with the production team to integrate new technologies or methodologies that enhance product quality and production speed.

-   Maintain detailed records of wood preparation processes, including temperature, time, and outcomes.

-   Report on the performance of wood preparation processes and suggest improvements where necessary.

Required Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Wood Technology, Forestry, Material Science, or a related field.

-          Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in wood processing, with a focus on heat treatment, veneering and drying.

-          Proven experience in handling and processing beechwood or similar species for veneer production.

-          Deep understanding of wood species, particularly beech, and their properties.

-          Proficiency in the heat treatment (boiling or steaming)  processes required to prepare wood for veneering.
