Junior Patent Engineer with French

Are you a mechanical engineer with a curiosity for law and legal matters? We are looking for a Junior Patent Engineer with an academic background in mechanical engineering. Objective of the role: Being a patent engineer means being at the heart of innovation and your primary mission is to support our clients in protecting and promoting their innovations. You work within a team of intellectual property experts and collaborate with experienced lawyers, patent attorneys, and engineers.


Responsibilities:

• You analyze technical documents provided by clients to understand the proposed innovations;
• Based on technical and legal analyses, you draft patent applications in French and English, ensuring the legal and technical soundness of the text;
• You organize meetings with inventors to refine your understanding of inventions and adapt the protection strategy;
• You stay informed of technological developments and new case law in intellectual property matters;
• You will attend training courses to deepen your knowledge of patent law and prepare for the Industrial Property Attorney (IPA) exam and/or the EQE (European Qualifying Examination);
• You will regularly interact with your colleagues to discuss complex cases and benefit from their expertise;
• As a junior patent engineer, you will gradually gain greater autonomy and responsibility, with the prospects of eventually becoming a representative on European patent terms or advice on industrial property.

Experience required:

• 1+ years of experience in mechanical engineering;
• R&D experience is a plus;
• French - advanced level (C2) is a must;
• English - advanced level (C1) is a must.
